A 75-year-old man who fell 100 feet off a rocky cliff into a dry creek bed prompted a helicopter rescue, California police reported.
Deputies found the seriously injured man trapped at the bottom of the cliff, leading to a helicopter airlift for medical assistance.
The man was airlifted to a landing area and transferred to a second helicopter for transportation to a hospital for medical treatment.
San Jose is approximately 50 miles southeast of San Francisco, where the incident took place.
