Mehdi Zarhloul immigrated from Morocco to the United States as a teenager, arriving with just $75 and a determination to succeed. His journey in the restaurant industry began with menial tasks, where he faced numerous challenges. Despite initial failures, Zarhloul embraced learning through experience. By demonstrating persistence, he moved up the ranks, eventually managing a restaurant by 18. His passion for hospitality and leadership was ignited during this time, propelling him towards significant entrepreneurial success and creating several restaurant brands.
Zarhloul arrived from Morocco as a teen, ready to work, willing to learn and determined to chase the dream that the statue stood for.
When I came to the country and looked at the Statue of Liberty, I knew I was part of the American Dream.
Zarhloul wasn't good at it. When they moved him to the kitchen, he hated that too. Bussing tables was worse.
Instead of walking away, Zarhloul stuck around. Every failure taught him something. He learned how a restaurant runs by doing every job badly.
