Home prices surge to another record high in February, defying expectations

Home prices continue to defy expectations in the face of high mortgage rates and worsening affordability, said Lisa Sturtevant, Bright MLS chief economist.

Since the previous peak in prices in 2022, this marks the second time home prices have pushed higher in the face of economic uncertainty, according to Brian Luke, S&P DJI head of commodities, real and digital assets.
