On Friday morning, firefighters responded to a fire in an apartment building located at 1528 Bedford Ave in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The FDNY reported that the fire erupted around 8:15 a.m. and was noticed coming from a third-floor unit. Despite the efforts of around 65 firefighters who worked to extinguish the flames, an 85-year-old woman was found unresponsive inside and was pronounced dead on site. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by FDNY Fire Marshals, and the victim's identity remains undisclosed pending family notification.
