A two-alarm fire at a Campbell apartment complex displaced eight residents, with no injuries reported and the cause under investigation.
The fire service said in a statement that the blaze broke out Monday evening in a storage room on the top floor of a five-story building in Manlleu, a town around 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Barcelona. The cause of the blaze has not been identified and officials are looking into it. The five people killed also didn't live in the building, police said.
