Officials announced on Tuesday that Kaire Holman, a 31-year-old Quincy woman, has been charged with murder regarding the shooting death of Zharia Wilcox-Ellis, 24, last month.
The police revealed that ballistics evidence matched the projectiles found in Wilcox-Ellis's body to a .380 firearm registered to Holman, leading to the murder charge.
Surveillance footage allegedly showed Melanie Williams involved in a fight with Wilcox-Ellis prior to the shooting, which adds a further layer to the ongoing investigation.
Williams, who has a prior charge for assault and battery, reportedly struck Wilcox-Ellis outside the apartment building before the fatal shooting took place.
