In the Bronx, five teenagers were arrested after a stray bullet from an apartment above struck a 55-year-old woman in the forehead while she was sleeping. The woman, unaware of the incident until waking up to blood, was hospitalized but is now in stable condition. The suspects, identified as three 19-year-olds and two 17-year-olds whose names remain confidential, face charges of second-degree fault and criminal possession of a weapon. Police continue to investigate the unclear circumstances of the shooting.
The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center and is in stable condition, the NYPD said.
