A 27-year-old man, Carlos Utrera, has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Chelsea early Saturday morning. Police responded to a report of a shooting at 40 Watts Street around 12:30 a.m., where they found a 20-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound, who later died at the scene despite life-saving efforts. Utrera is set to be arraigned in Chelsea District Court, with the investigation ongoing and police officials affirming their commitment to holding violent offenders accountable.
"We are committed to ensuring that those responsible for violent acts in our community are held accountable," said Chelsea Police Chief Keith Houghton.
Carlos Utrera, 27, was arrested on the same day of the shooting and faces murder charges to be addressed in Chelsea District Court.
