6 Boston-Area Restaurant and Bar Closings to Know, January 2025
Briefly

This article details recent restaurant closures in and around Boston, highlighting significant losses including Acapulcos Mexican Family Restaurant in Quincy, which served the community for 18 years but is seeking a new location. Other notable closures include La Colombe coffee shops in the Seaport and Leather District, and Hook + Line in Seaport, which struggled with profitability. Marseille, a southern French restaurant in South End, also closed, as did its associated boulangerie. This reflects the ongoing challenges faced by dining establishments in the area, exacerbated by local economic conditions.
"It's been an honor to be a part of this community, and we'll carry these memories with us forever," the team posted on Facebook.
Citing the 'thin line' of restaurant profitability, owner Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli said the restaurant was ultimately not sustainable enough to keep the lights on.
Owner Loic Le Garrec also closed down the PRB Boulangerie location in Somerville this month to make way for Cafe Saint-Germain, an all-day cafe and bar.
Eater has reached out to the coffee company for more information on the closures.
