Joseph Dow, a 78-year-old Wakefield resident, was struck and killed by a Ford Mustang while walking on Water Street. Police confirmed the driver remained on the scene.
Authorities reported that the investigation is being handled by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Wakefield Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police detectives.
