The shooting occurred near the Mildred C. Hailey Apartments, and officers reported hearing multiple gunshots before finding a man wounded, who later died.
Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin described the scene as active, stating, 'At this time we're dealing with a very large and active crime scene that spreads out through most of the development.'
