Officers responded to Bath Road shortly after 10am on Sunday following reports of a seriously injured woman. Upon arrival, they discovered a 71-year-old woman with significant injuries inside the property. The woman's family has been notified and is receiving support from trained officers. A crime scene was established, and detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command initiated a comprehensive investigation. No arrests have been made. Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby stated the investigation remains open to all lines of inquiry. Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area. Extra patrols will be deployed locally to reassure residents.
