"I'm not upset that my son is using pot, I'm upset that he's doing it wrong" is an advice-column letter for the ages. Look, pal, Richard is an adult. You've taught him all you can. He's going to get stoned however he wants, and he isn't going to change his ways because his dad told him to. You are not the Weed Czar.
There are plenty of reasons he might prefer smoking to edibles. Your particular experience may not at all represent his experience with weed, or indeed anyone's. Different bodies respond differently to drugs; he might find edible consumption doesn't work for him.
