Is your business AI-ready? 5 ways to avoid falling behind
Briefly

The recent Data Maturity Index report from consultancy Carruthers and Jackson reveals a dramatic shift in AI adoption among organizations, with only 7% reporting no use of AI compared to 26% the previous year. Caroline Carruthers, CEO, emphasizes that AI has become a core component of business operations, signifying a tipping point in its acceptance. However, challenges remain as over 26% of organizations lack a formal data strategy, complicating their ability to leverage AI technologies effectively. Carruthers warns that many organizations confuse data strategy with mere technology-focused plans, which can hinder their goal to embrace AI successfully.
"A lot more organizations are openly admitting they're using AI," she says. "I would say we've gone over the tipping point. AI has moved into the space where it's proved itself useful."
"The mistake I see a lot of organizations make is they talk about having a data strategy, and then when I look at it, it's a technology ecosystem strategy."
However, the report found that over a quarter (26%) of organizations still lack a formal data strategy.
While more businesses are embracing AI, they are not necessarily ready for the rise in automation and won't be able to make the most of the emerging technology they deploy.
