The updated processor, called Gaudi 3, will be widely available in the third quarter, designed to enhance AI system training and software performance. Intel aims to challenge Nvidia's dominant position in the accelerator chip market.
Intel states that the Gaudi 3 chip will outperform Nvidia's H100, being 1.7 times faster in training some AI models and 1.5 times better in running software, positioning itself to compete with Nvidia's newer H200.
Intel acknowledges the challenge of competing with Nvidia, whose H100 accelerator greatly boosted revenue and market valuation. Nvidia's upcoming Blackwell chip platform further solidifies its AI dominance.
