The National Weather Service forecasts the first snow to begin falling around 9 a.m. Sunday and continue through Monday, with scattered showers possibly lasting into Tuesday. According to government data, the averageAir Quality Index (AQI) in the region on Monday was 471, which among the worst in the world, with any measurement above 300 considered "hazardous" to health. Short-term rental firm Sonder Holdings said it will wind down its US operations after hotel chain Marriott abruptly ended their partnership. In a Monday press release, the San Francisco company said it plans to file "a Chapter 7 liquidation of its US business," and "initiate insolvency proceedings" in other countries where it operates.
