While once catering almost solely to the music industry, this year’s Departure Festival expands its programming to include standup comedy, fashion, and technology.

"We have a very rich and very brave history," said Manjit Parmar, an event co-ordinator for the OSGC. "Inclusiveness is a big part of Sikhism and that's what we are here to celebrate along with everybody else in Toronto."

Easter weekend festivities in Toronto include activities despite weather concerns. Many public facilities will close over the holiday weekend, while some stores maintain limited hours.
