On a bright afternoon in late August, I met Kevin Parker, the polymath behind the psych-pop project Tame Impala, at a hotel bar in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. Parker was dressed in baggy pants, flip-flops, and sunglasses. His hair is the kind of shaggy that suggests abject neglect more than overpriced Hollywood coiffure. We ordered a round of mezcal cocktails, which, when they arrived, were conspicuously pink and garnished with tiny orchids.

After announcing their brief, eight-concert 'Deadbeat Tour' - which comes in support of the group's upcoming fifth studio album due out Oct. 17 - they've added four more dates to their 2025 calendar. That means the trippy rockers now headline at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Monday, Oct. 27, Tuesday, Oct. 28, Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1. Kevin Parker and co.'s other new shows go down at Oakland's Oakland Arena (Nov. 15) and Los Angeles' Kia Forum (Nov. 17).

Tame Impala has teased a new single titled "End of Summer" with a cryptic message on X/Twitter, advising fans to clear 7 minutes of their schedule.
