Jeremiah Crawford, of Union City, was charged with murder, two counts of shooting an occupied vehicle, and three counts of shooting an unoccupied vehicle, all felonies. Police allege that on Aug. 27, 2025, Crawford was involved in a shooting on the 700 block of 17th Street in Oakland, where 68-year-old Tony Norman was killed. Crawford has been charged with a personal use enhancement in Norman's death and may have been the driver.

When he arrived at an emergency room with his cousin, Jashawndre Upshaw was wearing the same outfit as a man who had attempted to rob someone near a nightclub in Oakland.
