Superyacht ablaze in St Tropez port

Firefighters struggled to get on board the 41m superyacht Sea Lady II as thick black smoke billowed around the port of St Tropez. Anti-pollution barriers were deployed to mitigate environmental impact. Surrounding yachts were moved away as a precaution. The yacht was built in 1986 and had a recent refit in 2024, capable of accommodating 10 passengers with eight crew members. Concerns grew that the yacht, currently filling with water, could sink in the busy port where luxury vessels gather for the summer.
