Superyacht allegedly owned by Montana's richest man spotted in San Francisco
"In a recent photo circulating on Reddit, several uniformed workers can be seen tending to an enormous beige vessel docked in San Francisco, sparking intrigue and generating rumors about its potential owner. While online maritime databases confirm that the German "masterpiece" is currently registered under Blueridge Investments II LTD, superyacht enthusiasts allege it's actually tied to a billionaire industrialist based out of Montana."
"The 308-foot-long "pleasure craft," called AV, departed from Vancouver and arrived in the Bay Area earlier this month, MarineTraffic.com's website says. Bearing a Cayman Islands flag, it's been previously spotted in Cabo, Ibiza, and San Diego, among several other international locations, photos uploaded by users show. Reportedly worth $200 million and allegedly owned by billionaire industrialist Dennis Washington - the wealthiest man in Montana, according to Forbes - it boasts 12 cabins that can accommodate 24 guests"
"But it's not the only time such an over-the-top vessel has been spotted in Northern California, either. In May 2024, another billionaire sailed into San Francisco, when Whatsapp co-founder Jan Koum's yacht, "Mogambo," was seen in the Bay. Measuring over 240 feet long, it reportedly sold for $75 million in 2012 and could be rented out for a modest 600,000 euros per week."
The 308-foot pleasure craft AV arrived in San Francisco after departing Vancouver and is listed on maritime databases as registered to Blueridge Investments II LTD under a Cayman Islands flag. Enthusiasts allege the German-built vessel is tied to Montana billionaire Dennis Washington. The yacht is reportedly worth $200 million, includes 12 cabins for 24 guests, accommodates up to 33 crew, and has amenities such as a private theater and a deck swimming pool. AV has been photographed in Cabo, Ibiza, and San Diego. Northern California has hosted other billionaire yachts recently, including Jan Koum's 240-foot Mogambo.
