Netflix has officially renewed Virgin River for Season 8. In fact, the renewal came in July 2025, long before the anticipated arrival of Season 7, hinting at just how much confidence Netflix has in the series and its viewership.

The overriding theme defining television in recent years has been a fear of the new. A loose follow-up to the U.S. version of The Office, The Paper tracks a new industry full of frustrations and petty grievances: journalism. Domhnall Gleeson plays Ned, the brand-new editor-in-chief of the Toledo Truth-Teller, a once-great newspaper that has withered in a changing media environment. Other than Oscar Nunez, who returns as accountant Oscar Martinez, this is a whole new cast, although the shooting style and the mood will remind you very much of the happenings at Dunder Mifflin.

The episode captures Cassian Andor's evolution into a skilled saboteur amidst a turf war, showcasing strong character interactions and depth.

Sal Saperstein, played by Ike Barinholtz, epitomizes Hollywood's worst traits, indulging in lewdness and opportunism, showcasing the dark side of the entertainment industry.
