Over 80,000 vehicles were stolen in England and Wales Jan–Sep 2025, an 11% rise, with London and the West Midlands hardest hit.
Seven juveniles, all 13 to 15 years old, were arrested following a police chase involving stolen cars in Norwood on Saturday. Around 1:50 a.m., two vehicles outran an officer trying to stop the vehicles on Route 1 north after they both made an illegal U-turn out of a Mobil gas station near Dean Street, according to Norwood police. The officer was able to catch up with the vehicles and the run the license plate numbers.
Gardaí received the report of the burglary at a commercial premises in Darragh, Co Clare this morning, with one of the six stolen cars since recovered and seized by gardaí. The cars which are yet to recovered include a 2014 blue Audi S3 Saloon, a 2017 navy Mercedes CLA180, a 2015 black Volkswagen Golf, a 2014 white Volkswagen Golf and a 2018 white Toyota CHR.
