Cruise stops supervised and manual autonomous vehicle in US

Cruise is temporarily halting its autonomous vehicle operations in the US and hiring an outsider to assess the technology and safety risks.

The shutdown comes after a recent accident involving one of Cruise's driverless cars in San Francisco.

Cruise will continue to operate on closed course training environments and maintain a simulation program to advance its AV technology. [ more ]
