A single gunshot was fired at a 29-year-old outside a Brooklyn playground, and a suspect fled by bicycle; police seek public tips to locate him.
A person was fatally shot last night near San Bruno Avenue and 16th Street. Police officers arrived at the scene at 9:42 p.m. and found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to a statement from the police department. Officers rendered aid until paramedics arrived at the scene, but despite the efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The request follows bakery staff posting security footage of the Dec. 17 confrontation and assault and encouraging tipsters to contact the San Jose Police Department with information that could lead to the man, pleading with viewers to help us find him. Around 2:20 p.m. on the day of the crime, the man entered the Alum Rock Avenue shop a San Jose institution for nearly a century and solicited staff to buy cleaning wipes he was carrying with him.
According to local authorities, 20-year-old Isaiah Jamon Andrews of Kent, Washington, was mistakenly released from the Martinez Detention Facility nearly a full week earlier, where he was being held on local charges and an arrest warrant on suspicion of homicide. "After Sheriff's Office staff realized Andrews had been released, we launched a search of the immediate area and confirmed that Andrews was no longer in the area," according to the department's Facebook post on Monday.
