Kianna Underwood, a former Nickelodeon child actress, has been identified as the woman killed in a hit-and-run early Friday morning in New York City. The NYPD confirmed Underwood's death Saturday, adding the 33-year-old was struck by two drivers in Brownsville, Brooklyn, after attempting to cross the street without the right of way. Underwood's IMDb page says she appeared in episodes of "All That" and "Little Bill" from 1999-2005. Police said they were still looking for the drivers involved in the fatality and had not yet made any arrests.
Police are asking the public to look out for a teenage mother who went missing from a Brooklyn shelter Monday night with her infant son. NYPD officials said 17-year-old Kristina Ortiz left a residential program for young parents on Dean Street near Nostrand Avenue in Crown Heights with her 2-month-old son, Colin Ortiz, around 11:30 p.m. She was wearing a black jacket with gray pants, while he was wearing a beige onesie, according to police.
A burglar broke into 2 Brooklyn businesses. Police say the first incident happened on Sept. 21 at just before 10 p.m. The thief entered the building of a Planet Fitness on 86th Street on Bensonhurst through the roof. They stole $450 from the register and escaped back through the roof. Then a few hours later, at 1 a.m., they broke through the door of a business on 86th Street in Bay Ridge.
