The Piccadilly line on the London Underground is undergoing a £2.9 billion renovation, including the introduction of air-conditioned trains.
Upgrades to the Piccadilly line include new trains with walk-through and driverless features, to be operational by 2025, and an increase in the number of trains by 2027. [ more ]
The navy blue line of the London Underground will be partially closed for several days next week for vital renewal work.
The closures will happen in two phases, with no trains on the western part of the Piccadilly Line between Hammersmith and Heathrow, and no trains between Acton Town and Heathrow. [ more ]

TfL is investing £1.5 billion for 94 new trains on the Piccadilly Line, replacing the outdated trains from the 1970s.
The new trains will have bright and spacious interiors, fully air-conditioned, improved accessibility, and be more energy efficient.
