Warwickshire Police stated that on 17 August, 27-year-old Wojciech Berlan drowned after swimming at Ensor's Pool in Nuneaton and failed to resurface for over five minutes.

The train was running late and the driver misinterpreted a warning board, leading to the crash that derailed the train and caused fatalities.
