"No New Yorker should have to pay hundreds of dollars for furniture only to receive it late or damaged," said Attorney General James. "We are requiring 1StopBedrooms to refund customers who were forced to pay unlawful cancelation fees or could not cancel their order after it was delayed for months."
By observing and recording the actions of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or other federal agencies, which the public has a right to do, the observers will provide the attorney general's office with information that could one day be used in future legal action if any laws are broken. By having a uniform, they are standing out and identifying themselves.
This week, James filed a lawsuit against a series of familiar, but not quite right, corporate entities: Sullivan & Cromwell LLC, Sullivan & Cromwel LLC, Sullivan & Kromwell LLC, Sullivan & Kromwel LLC, Sullivan & Cromwelll LLC, Sullivann & Cromwell LLC, and Sulivan & Cromwel LLC, under a state law that allows the AG to sue entities that "engage in repeated fraudulent or illegal acts or otherwise demonstrate persistent fraud or illegality in the carrying on, conducting or transaction of business."
"Customers opened and maintained 360 Savings accounts based on Capital One's promises that they would receive 'one of the nation's best savings rates.' Instead, Capital One took advantage of its customers and hoped that they wouldn't notice."
