2 days agoA Lot of Shops Won't Fix Electric Bikes. Here's Why
Many bike shops refuse to repair electric bikes without proper certification due to safety and liability concerns.
Riding pillion on a vintage Vespa from Sydney to Italy was never going to be easy. But doing so amid a war in the Middle East, global oil shocks and shuttered borders? That was something Mario Gabrieli, 54, and his 11-year-old son, Leonardo, never planned for.
What the bikes lacked in horsepower against the Kawasakis and Ducatis, they more than recovered in stability and handling. On March 6, 1976, Butler & Smith rider Steve McLaughlin crossed the line first in the inaugural AMA Superbike Championship Series race, with teammate Reg Pridmore a photo finish behind him.
Start with the tires and chain. Is your chain cleaned and lubed? Is the sealant in your tubeless tires good to go? If not, refresh both. Pop your bike in a stand like the Feedback Sports Pro Mechanic or Sport Mechanic 2.0, confirming that it's shifting correctly and brakes are functioning properly before embarking on any significant cycling journey.
Meet Ciulator by Compass Rose, a retro café racer with a front shell that draws design from 1950s British racing motorcycles. Dubbed a flagship motorcycle created for collectors, its design and overall silhouette are grounded in the visual and mechanical language of 1950s British café racers. The body sits low and long, with a horizontal line running from the front fairing through the fuel tank and into the rear cowl. This stretched stance reflects how riders back in the day
The beauty of chainrings is that they wear out, generally after a few seasons depending on how you ride, which means they are a perfect opportunity to give your old bike some new bling. At $75 a pop, they aren't exactly cheap. But the precision of these machined-in-Colorado 7075 chainrings is on point, and Wheels Mfg has a long record of making solid, long-lasting components.
Streetdog BMX isn't trying to revive the glory days of BMX games, nor is it chasing mass appeal. It's a deliberately fiddly, skill-focused take on BMX riding, aimed squarely at players who enjoy mastery more than spectacle. And like real-life riding, that first crash is the key moment - because you're either going to toss the fucking thing in the trash, or grind like a madman and try again.
I've been dreaming of this one for a long time. It's a nod to so many things I love.... The klunkers of the MTB pioneers, the untouchable cool of a Cook 3 Bar cruiser, and, of course, my own beloved 1×1, which has been my main city bike for over a decade. This was a project from the heart.
We are not building mobility. We're building motorcycles. We're building something for joy and for fun," Chinnock said. "If it takes away the ability to operate it and experience it, then just get in a pod and go from point A to point B.
I had trained for a full year to complete a self-supported bicycle tour from San Diego to Las Cruces, New Mexico. It was meant to be the next-to-last chapter in my coast-to-coast cycling journey - one more long stretch of road before the final piece fell into place. Thirty-four miles into the ride, it was over. A microfiber towel caught in my derailleur. A fluke. One of those things you never plan for and still struggle to explain afterward.
Try as we might, it's not always easy to keep up with it all, and sometimes, it can be a challenge to give everything the attention it deserves. In our new Shifting Gear series (see what we did there?), we'll be highlighting products that have just arrived, we're excited to try out, or that we're particularly stoked to tell you about but haven't had a chance to review yet.

The Heybike Mars 3.0 is finally here, and it has riders asking: Should I upgrade from Mars 2.0? If you are someone who rides every day, carries groceries or gear, or enjoys weekend trail adventures, knowing the real differences can help you decide wisely. This comparison focuses on ride feel, comfort, safety, tech features, and practical daily use. We'll look beyond just numbers and specs. The goal is to give you a clear sense of what it feels like to ride, how it handles different terrain, and who benefits most from the upgrade.
Bellingham, Washington, and Transition Bikes go together like peanut butter and jelly. Bellingham offers a massive variety of trails, from tech steeps to freeride playgrounds and all the flow trails that link them. For that reason, it's not surprising that Transition has developed bikes that suit all different riding styles and supports athletes who can seriously throw down on whatever they ride.
Quick Take: For this post, stacking means two rides in one day-morning and evening-so I practice riding when I'm not perfectly fresh. It prepares me for 7 straight days of touring without destroying myself in training. I'm training for a 7-day, 470-mile Mississippi River tour where the real test isn't day one-it's day five. By then your legs have opinions, your energy fluctuates, and your mind starts negotiating.
