Jacob Stockdale chose a perfect line to punish Dan Edwards from close in. If Wales were concerned about the absence of Sam Costelow then that didn't look good; and if some questioned the presence of Stockdale then that too was good for the winger. That it was his 20th try emphasised his pedigree.
Müller got on to the scoresheet for the first time this season with a penalty kick and later scored his second goal for a brace in helping Vancouver Whitecaps FC secure a 3-0 victory over Toronto FC.
We chased the game well in the second half and we were in it right until the end with Harvey [Barnes] shot right until the end. We were chasing the game against a very good team. We did that to a man excellently all game. The end product, the last cross, the last finish was not quite there. There were several occasions where we should have done better.
Antoine Semenyo described his start to life at Manchester City as a "fairytale" after registering a goal and an assist to help them beat Fulham and cut Arsenal's lead at the Premier League summit. Semenyo reacted quickest when Matheus Nunes' hanging cross deflected off Sander Berge to prod in City's 24th-minute opener, then threaded in Nico O'Reilly to make it 2-0 six minutes later.
Because tennis is thinly disguised psychological torture, it is not a surprise when a tennis player looks like they are having a bad time. Even by those standards, Amanda Anisimova, while on court, wears her emotions on her sleeve; she can also look like she is wrangling with a very bad time and come out of the match with a win anyway.
Olise was a whirlwind on the right wing, and his form was on song today. The 24-year-old dazzled with his feet as he always does, his start-step stutter too much for any defender to keep up with. Those chip-ball crosses to the far post, arching over the backline to find a teammate at point-blank range? He's done this before but had an infinite supply of these marvels in his locker today.
Dani Olmo: The return of a champion? As reported by SPORT, Olmo was one of the best performers for Barcelona in the win over Deportivo Alaves, and his performance has been backed by numbers as well. Playing the full 90 minutes, the Spaniard registered a decisive brace, scoring his first league goals since September. His second goal, coming deep into stoppage time, sealed the victory after Lamine Yamal's earlier equaliser.
Sebastian Berhalter got the U.S. rolling in the 17th minute, playing a free kick short to Sergiño Dest, before getting the ball back and bending a powerful shot past Uruguay keeper Cristopher Fiermarin for his first international goal. Three minutes later, Berhalter put a corner kick on a platter for Alex Freeman to head home for his first U.S. tally, and Freeman then made it 3-0 in the 31st minute, dancing through the Uruguay defense after being put through by Auston Trusty.
Germany would put together a flurry in the 27th minute, but Luxembourg had so many bodies in front of the net, it was near impossible to get anything through the wall of bodies. Florian Wirtz had a great look in the 28th minute, but airmailed his attempt. Wirtz is looking like he is batting himself. Normally, this is the part of the of the post where I say that there is no reason to worry, but, indeed, there is a reason for concern.
For heaven's sake, Jeremy. You're not supposed to actually enjoy these games. Except, it seems sometimes you can, even at this rarefied level. Perhaps the most striking part of Jeremy Doku's thrilling performance here was its playfulness, the sense of fun, the way he was into it from the first moment, basically dancing out there. Doku has the nickname The Count, a reference to the Star Wars Sith Lord Count Dooku.
I work for the team. These games are incredibly difficult. It's not just about one player's talent, you must never give up as a team. They didn't score early on and they didn't score the penalty; it wouldn't have been fair for the game. We are proud of the win and the standings.
