Working inside an operating business changed how I look at buildings. You stop seeing square footage and start seeing workflow. That perspective still guides his work today. It helps him understand tenants and advise property owners with more clarity.
And the family dynamic plays out in a number of ways. The first thing is that we can take a long-term view. We'd like to think we think in generations and not just in quarters. And because of our ownership, we carry the name of our owners on the door, we have an obligation to make sure that we behave well in society.
I'm fascinated with moments of truth. In a lifetime, how many moments of truth might there be? It's probably less than 20, or maybe less than a dozen. There's just not that many of them. Learning to identify a moment of truth is an incredibly important skill-whether it's deciding where to live, who to marry, choosing a career, or what kind of company to start.
Being a rebel, to me, essentially means parking the industry playbook. It means not necessarily following the herd. So, when people go that way, perhaps you go the other way or in that direction. It's not about chasing clicks; it's not about chasing short-term wins. I think, at the end of the day, it is about giving your audience credit and not dumbing down,
