This week, the mountain village of Canfranc, Spain, hosts the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships from Thursday, September 25 through Sunday, September 28. Four races take place as part of these world champs: We'll livecast each race over on iRunFar's X feed with text and photo reports. We'll also live blog the same material below in this article. We are covering the Trail World Champs Long Trail in the greatest depth, and are providing lighter coverage of the other three races.

The 2025 UTMB is here! We can't believe it, but this is iRunFar's 15th year covering the race. This year, the UTMB course is 174 kilometers (108 miles) long and gains almost 10,000 meters (32,500 feet) of elevation as it encircles the Mont Blanc massif from Chamonix, France, through Italy and Switzerland, before finishing back in Chamonix. The race starts at 5:45 p.m. CEST (9:45 a.m. MDT in the U.S.) on Friday, August 29.
