Austria's 2022 Olympic slalom silver medallist Katharina Liensberger will miss the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics after suffering a serious knee injury in a training crash. The Austrian Ski Association said Liensberger would have surgery on Friday after medical examinations revealed a fracture of the tibial plateau, a torn meniscus and a medial collateral ligament injury in her right knee. Austrian media said the 28-year-old slalom specialist's season was over after the crash in St Michael a month before the Olympics start in Italy.
Midway through the third period, Islanders' star Bo Horvat collided with the Mammoth's Sean Durzi. Horvat was slow to get up. And even though he was able to skate off the ice on his own, it was evident the Islanders' leading scorer was in considerable discomfort and could not put weight on his left leg. The knee-jerk reaction was that Thursday's injury is related to the groin issue that sidelined him earlier this season.

The New Zealand striker has been out since mid-October with a knee problem and is yet to feature under Sean Dyche since he replaced Ange Postecogolou as manager. His playing time has been more limited this campaign, with Wood having managed two goals in nine appearances.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Gardner Minshew sustained a left knee injury in the opening minute of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, left the game before halftime and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. Minshew scrambled on the third play of the game and fell to the turf in what appeared to be a non-contact injury. Immediately after the play, Minshew reached for his left knee and hobbled off the field.
Barcelona have been hit with an untimely setback just hours before their final game of 2025, with a late injury disrupting Hansi Flick's plans. According to a report from SPORT, the Blaugrana suffered a last-minute problem during their final training session ahead of the trip to Villarreal, leaving Andreas Christensen out of the squad travelling to La Ceramica. The issue first came to light when it was noticed that Christensen was missing when the Barcelona delegation arrived in Villarreal. His absence immediately raised concerns, especially given his recent involvement in the team.

His 21-day practice window is currently ongoing, but if he isn't activated to the 53-man roster by next week, he'll remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
