It wasn't a particularly good night for baseball in Queens, but the Braves nonetheless prevailed in a very rain-shortened contest by a 4-0 score, starting their four-game set against the division rivals off on a soggy-but-still-good (like french fries, sometimes, I guess) note.Most of this game wasn't really fun to watch, probably for fans of either side, and I can't imagine it was all that much fun to sit at the ballpark or actually play in it, either.

ATLANTA-A pitching duel between Braxton Garrett and Kyle Wright was interrupted by Mother Nature after 3 innings.The Braves took firm control coming out of the 3-hour rain delay by scoring 4 in the 5th.The Marlins took their time getting back in game mode, but when they did, it was spectacular.A 5-run, 9th-inning rally put them on top to beat the Braves, 5-4, and avoid a series sweep.

Yesterday's Braves Spring Training opener was very eventful, ending in a never-before-seen way.Today's Braves Spring Training game was, well... a lot more forgettable.Bryce Elder drew the start, and gave up a grand slam to Jose Trevino before recording an out.Three not-particularly-well-hit grounders loaded the bases for the Yankees to start the bottom of the first, and Trevino promptly unloaded them on a 2-0 get-me-over sinker.

After a problematic 2022 that saw him get sent down to the minors, this afternoon's drubbing at the hands of the Minnesota Twins was probably not the outing Ian Anderson wanted to have.Let's get the ugly out of the way first: whether Anderson was trying to get outs, or just working on stuff, or even messing around, things went south on the scoreboard.
