Red Sox Fan-Favorite Officially Retiring, Ending 13-Year MLB Career
Briefly

Kevin Pillar, a former MLB outfielder, announced his retirement after a 13-season career playing for multiple teams. During an announcement on 'Foul Territory,' he expressed his desire to be sure before making the decision. Pillar reflected on his offseason mindset and the impact of last season on his choice to retire. He expressed gratitude for his return to spring training with the Rangers but noted the disappointment of being DFA'd. Now, he embraces his new role as a father, feeling excited about spending time with his children.
I guess I can officially say I'm done playing. I wanted to be 100% sure. Because of things I went through last year, I kinda said it was gonna be my last year.
I missed it. I didn't like the way the year ended last year for me. I had the thumb surgery in the offseason. I went through that tedious process of rehabbing it.
I'm very thankful that I went back and went into spring training and got a chance to play for the Rangers. It was unfortunate that my season was cut short when I was DFA'd.
I wake up every morning now excited to be Dad and see what the day brings.
