I think the club has been very agile and very intelligent in its search for many players and in taking advantage of opportunities, such as the case of Dayne St. Clair, who was a free agent, and Facundo Mura, players who perhaps in another situation would have cost us much more money, and we wouldn't have been able to bring them in. The club looked for opportunities, and I think that by being so agile in that search, they were able to find solutions.
Inter Miami CF announced the signing of Mexico national team forward Germán Berterame from Liga MX powerhouse Monterrey. Berterame joins Lionel Messi and the reigning MLS Cup champions as a Designated Player on a contract running through 2029, with a club option for an additional year. Miami secured the deal by triggering Berterame's $15 million release clause, sources told ESPN's Lizzy Becherano.
The right-back will be incorporated into the roster ahead of the 2026 season pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Mura, 26, arrives after spending a significant time with Argentine team Racing Club, having previously featured for Estudiantes de La Plata and Club Atlético Colón. He recorded a total of 13 goals and 20 assists in 200 appearances across all competitions.
"I was the first to receive offers from Inter Miami," Silva, 39, told the El Camino de Mario podcast. "I met with [Inter Miami president David] Beckham in Manchester, but I told him I still wanted to compete in Europe. Then I had many other offers: Japan, Qatar ... but then I prioritized my personal life and I felt very ready to compete."
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano insists the club has evolved since losing to the Vancouver Whitecaps in April's Concacaf Champions Cup semifinals, entering Saturday's MLS Cup with a newfound confidence and improved roster. The Whitecaps first beat Inter Miami 2-0 at BC Place before triumphing 3-1 in the second leg of the semifinal series at Chase Stadium to eliminate Mascherano's team from the international competition.
