Casa La Vista is a residential project by MEDEZA CDQ and VERTEBRAL located on a cliff within the desert landscape of Baja California Sur, . Positioned among dunes and overlooking the coastline of San José and Punta Gorda, the house is oriented toward the southeast to frame the horizon where sea and sky meet. The project responds to the region's extreme climatic conditions through a spatial and tectonic strategy that prioritizes orientation, shading, and material performance.
RCR Arquitectes shapes Alwah House, a 900-square-meter dwelling, as a cluster of curved, shaded volumes partially embedded into the desert on the outskirts of Dubai. The home turns to the natural logics of a flower and an oasis as its two main references. The architects carve a hollow in the sand to retain water and vegetation, creating a microclimate where light, wind, shade, and filtered views guide the spatial experience.
The architectural language is quiet but confident. A flat roof stretches outward, forming generous overhangs that temper the desert sun while framing long horizontal lines against the open sky. Beneath it, warm Douglas fir eaves run continuously from exterior to interior, creating a seamless ribbon of wood that guides the eye and softens the transition between architecture and nature. It's this gesture, simple, fluid, and tactile, that anchors the design.
In the desert landscapes of Baja California Sur, , Canyon Market & Offices stand as both an amenity and an anchor, serving as the main administrative building for a family club. The design, created in collaboration between MEDEZA (led by Francisco Parra) and the Querencia Design Center and Construction, embraces the clarity of a modular column-and-beam system free of bearings walls, drawing inspiration from Le Corbusier's Maison Domino.
