John Carlson left Thursday night's game between the Washington Capitals and Nashville Predators with a lower-body injury. Carlson departed after taking just nine shifts in the first period, not returning for the rest of the Capitals' 4-2 victory. How Carlson was injured wasn't clear during the game, but Caps head coach Spencer Carbery didn't sound too worried about the veteran rearguard postgame.

Manchester United are keen to resume talks with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo over a new contract that would bring him in line with his fellow senior squad members. Mainoo's current contract expires in 2027, although there is an option to extend that by a further year. There have been no discussions yet and it remains to be seen how open Mainoo is to signing a new deal given his well-publicised desire to leave United on loan last summer.

A big reason why the Dolphins have won three in a row and four of their past five games is because Achane, who rushed for 132 yards on 22 carries against the Saints, took over the offense in the absence of Hill and tight end Darren Waller, who return to the lineup Sunday. That's right. Achane carried the Miami offense better than either quarterback Tua Tagovailoa or wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

We know Mainoo was interested in a move away in the summer window as he knew he wasn't going to be playing in Ruben Amorim's side.

A new deal for Van de Ven is emerging as one of Tottenham's priorities under Vinai Venkatesham's reign, and talks have already been taking place since the summer. But this is both ways, Van de Ven is very happy at Tottenham, he has settled in brilliantly since he arrived, having now emerged as one of the Premier League's best, and his partnership with Cristian Romero is on par with anything in the game.

I'm sure there will be talks held between Robertson and Liverpool to see if they can try and sort out a new contract, but the longer it drags on, there's no new deal agreed. It obviously opens up to the possibility that he could potentially sign a pre-contract in January or leave on a free transfer next summer, bit like his close mate Trent Alexander-Arnold did when he got the opportunity to move to Real Madrid.
