Perhaps this latest fourth-quarter giveaway will be what the New York Giants need to see to fire defensive coordinator Shane Bowen. For a fifth time this season, Big Blue (2-10) lost a game in which they were leading in the final frame, which is the most in the NFL, after Jake Barnes' 59-yard field goal with 28 seconds left in regulation drew the Detroit Lions level at 27 apiece.
Considering how the Commanders' defense has been decimated by injuries this season, the fact that Washington's coaching staff hasn't gotten Kain Medrano on the field for anything more than 20 special teams snaps is a damning indictment of his development. The sixth-round rookie was extremely athletic and incredibly raw coming into the league. It seems as if the necessary progress hasn't arrived to inspire confidence as yet.
The Dallas Cowboys just can't beat the Arizona Cardinals. Even when the Cardinals are having a rough year, the Cowboys can't seem to figure them out, as they have now lost four straight to those redbirds. Monday night's 27-17 loss marks the first time this season the Cowboys have lost two in a row, suffering their first loss of the year at AT&T Stadium. It's been a rough season for the Cowboys as they now sit with a 3-5-1 record heading into the bye week with the slow realization that this team isn't going to amount to much in 2025. Here are 10 thoughts on another disappointing showing by the Cowboys.
A frustrated Ja Morant told reporters to "go ask the coaching staff" about his struggles during the Memphis Grizzlies' 117-112 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. Morant was held to a season-low eight points, going 3-of-14 from the field, and seven assists. Asked about what he noticed in the game, Morant was again terse. "According to them, probably don't play me, honestly," Morant said. "That's basically what the message was. It's cool."
The Denver Broncos wiped the floor with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. It was more of requirement for them to fulfill as a game on their schedule than one that was up for grabs. While the Cowboys put the first points of the day on the board the Broncos made sure to be the team that did it most frequently.
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Week 7 has a weighty feel to it. It no longer feels early in the NFL season. We're in the thick of it now, with nearly two months' worth of evidence to support our opinions of these teams and these players. What might have felt like an overreaction in Week 2 feels less so now. This is also the point in the season where coaches get tired of underreacting. On Sunday, Jets coach Aaron Glenn seemed to have finally grown tired of watching Justin Fields' complete inability to sense or react to pressure, as he benched Fields for Tyrod Taylor on the second half of New York's latest lackluster loss.
