The Toronto Maple Leafs urgently need a new GM to prepare for the 2026 NHL Draft and address coaching decisions before free agency.
To be blunt, this season fell well short of our expectations. Our level of investment in this year's team was sufficient enough for us to reach the NCAA Tournament at a minimum. Simply fighting to qualify for the ACC Tournament is not good enough.
Chessum comes into the side at blindside flanker to add to England's lineout options but Borthwick has named an unchanged back line despite last weekend's humiliating first ever defeat by the Azzurri which extended England's losing run to three matches.
Going into the final 2025 game for Toronto on New Year's Eve against Denver, I thought Bamba might carve out a larger role for the Raptors going forward. With Toronto as clear favorites heading in, it seemed like a good opportunity to give Bamba extended minutes - especially since Denver only had Jonas Valanciunas and DaRon Holmes as their true bigs available.
"I don't like the drive at all," Harbaugh said. "Looking back, would I rather have had Derrick starting the drive? Yes. But Derrick was kind of ready for Keaton to start that drive. And then he was planning on coming in next. So, they were working that rotation."
Perhaps this latest fourth-quarter giveaway will be what the New York Giants need to see to fire defensive coordinator Shane Bowen. For a fifth time this season, Big Blue (2-10) lost a game in which they were leading in the final frame, which is the most in the NFL, after Jake Barnes' 59-yard field goal with 28 seconds left in regulation drew the Detroit Lions level at 27 apiece.
Considering how the Commanders' defense has been decimated by injuries this season, the fact that Washington's coaching staff hasn't gotten Kain Medrano on the field for anything more than 20 special teams snaps is a damning indictment of his development. The sixth-round rookie was extremely athletic and incredibly raw coming into the league. It seems as if the necessary progress hasn't arrived to inspire confidence as yet.
A frustrated Ja Morant told reporters to "go ask the coaching staff" about his struggles during the Memphis Grizzlies' 117-112 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. Morant was held to a season-low eight points, going 3-of-14 from the field, and seven assists. Asked about what he noticed in the game, Morant was again terse. "According to them, probably don't play me, honestly," Morant said. "That's basically what the message was. It's cool."
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Week 7 has a weighty feel to it. It no longer feels early in the NFL season. We're in the thick of it now, with nearly two months' worth of evidence to support our opinions of these teams and these players. What might have felt like an overreaction in Week 2 feels less so now. This is also the point in the season where coaches get tired of underreacting. On Sunday, Jets coach Aaron Glenn seemed to have finally grown tired of watching Justin Fields' complete inability to sense or react to pressure, as he benched Fields for Tyrod Taylor on the second half of New York's latest lackluster loss.
I thought we played well enough in the first half with our first shot defense, we should have been up double figures. Instead, we're down. Some turnovers led to some baskets and then offensive rebounds just killed us in the first half.
