A big rig truck caught fire near the Golden Gate Bridge, causing significant traffic delays.
A speeding stop turned into an arrest on suspicion of DUI for the driver of a commercial semitrailer truck earlier this week after the California Highway Patrol pulled over a big rig on the Central Coast. According to the CHP, the driver was caught traveling 82 mph headed south on Highway 101 near Avila Beach, and when an officer made contact, the driver allegedly displayed signs of intoxication.
These lights are integrated into the grille, windshield and side panels for increased visibility when activated. When a CHP officer initiates a traffic stop, red emergency lights will always be illuminated, and drivers are required to safely pull over. The design allows officers to address reckless driving while maintaining safety and compliance with state law.
The California Highway Patrol says a suspect who had committed a vehicle code violation - failing to display license plates - and then fled officers was chased throughout Oakland on Tuesday night, leading to a dangerous collision on a busy arterial street. The suspect, identified by an Oakland police officer's radio broadcast only as a Hispanic male, sped away from the intersection of 73rd Avenue and San Leandro Street, at the Coliseum BART station,
Cameron Michael-Tanner Jones, 31, of Vacaville was taken into custody on Aug. 21 after investigators identified him with the help of Flock Safety cameras, the CHP said in a social media post. According to investigators, on May 1, at about 5:55 p.m., officers from the CHP's Solano Area responded to reports of a possible shooting on eastbound I-80, east of the Carquinez Bridge. The victim was not injured. Special Investigations Unit detectives took over the investigation and, with help from Flock Safety cameras, identified Jones.
