Boyd Cycling introduces two 55mm carbon wheelsets for road and gravel, emphasizing aerodynamics without the usual weight penalties.
The biggest update is the rim itself. The new TYRO uses a 45mm-deep full-carbon clincher rim with a 23mm internal width and 31mm external width. That wider internal measurement reflects where modern road and all-road setups have headed over the last few years. A wider rim supports larger tires and helps them maintain a more stable, rounded profile.
" We've worked successfully with Reserve for a long time on the race and sponsorship side of things," explained King's President and GM Kirby Bedsaul, " So expanding that, and bringing these world-class wheels to the everyday riders just made a lot of sense."
Reserve wheels are renowned for durability, a no-BS warranty, reliability, and have been rolled across the finish line to victory plenty of times in 2025 by Santa Cruz Syndicate rider Jackson Goldstone. At the core of those wheels were Chris King hubs, also highly regarded for their robust, rebuildable internals, distinctive buzz, and legacy in mountain biking, so what happens when you take one of the most well-regarded wheels on the market and lace them up to some of the best hubs in the world?
