The lawsuit came after Torre produced a number of investigative pieces on Hudson and Belichick's relationship. On his show Pablo Torre Finds Out, Torre claimed that a number of sources alleged Hudson's presence on UNC's campus was not without controversy. Torre also provided a video of Hudson trashing staffers for a show that Belichick had been a part of. The next day, Hudson posted a number of screenshots to disprove the allegation that Hudson lied about her age to appear older.
many assumed that there was no way legendary head coach Bill Belichick was ever going to be considered for an NFL head coaching vacancy again. However, despite the fact his Tar Heels tenure has gotten off to a very rocky start, Belichick's name and legacy are strong enough to get teams around the league interested in him. Belichick has some legitimate buzz around him in the 2026 head coaching cycle.
"I think competitively, most everyone who's been in strong competition will tell you that it's a little bit easier to get to the top than just stay on top," Belichick said. "Certainly, an organization like Washington could see that this year. They had a great year last year. Things fell right for them. And this year, everybody's gunning for them. And it's a lot tougher."
Some of the best players on the Patriots' current roster have ties to Belichick in Christian Gonzalez (2023), Marcus Jones (2022), and Christian Barmore (2021). But the whiffs, especially in the early rounds, were painful and impossible to ignore over the last several years. Cole Strange. Mac Jones. Kyle Dugger. N'Keal Harry. Belichick's Patriots spent some premium draft capital on a bunch of players who are either no longer on the roster or barely still in the league.
Season 1 of the Bill Belichick era has been a train wreck. The Tar Heels have beaten just one FBS opponent - a 1-5 Charlotte team that is ranked 129th nationally in ESPN's SP+ ratings - and have given up 120 points in their three defeat. ... Carolina has been outscored 55-6 in the first half of its past two games, vs. UCF and Clemson.
Bill Belichick was either dialed into ESPN's "College GameDay" or he inadvertently made an awkward live television moment on Saturday morning. The UNC head coach apparently called analyst Kirk Herbstreit's cell phone during a "GameDay" segment discussing Belichick's first-year struggles at Chapel Hill. "Answer that," fellow "College GameDay" analyst Pat McAfee said as Herbstreit flashed him his phone. "He has to be watching right now. That's literally Bill Belichick calling Kirk Herbstreit. He probably has something to say." "I can't answer," Herbstreit replied with an awkward laugh.
"According to sources inside the UNC football program, it is a directive from the staff (Bill Belichick) to not tweet/retweet anything Patriots-related," CBS Sports/247Sports reporter Ross Martin posted via X early Monday morning. "That's clearly why UNC football has not posted anything from Drake Maye's electric primetime win over the Buffalo Bills." An hour after Martin's post started to make the rounds on social media, the Tar Heels' main X account posted a video highlighting some of Maye's throws that helped New England beat the Bills in a primetime matchup.
