Belichick 'focused' on Wake Forest, not Giants job
"Getting ready for Wake Forest, that's all I got this week,"
"I've been asked about it from time to time,"
"Look I've been down this road before. I'm focused on Wake Forest, that's it. That's my commitment to this team. This week it's Wake Forest, next week it's that opponent and so forth. I'm here to do the best for this team."
Bill Belichick is focused on preparing for Wake Forest and committed to North Carolina this week. Players and recruits have inquired about speculation linking him to the New York Giants head coaching vacancy and he indicated he has been down this road before. North Carolina is in Belichick's first season and has won two straight games to reach a 4-5 record. Belichick spent his entire prior career in the NFL, winning six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. He previously won two Super Bowls as the New York Giants' defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells in 1986 and 1990. Lawrence Taylor attended the season opener in Chapel Hill.
