Client Kathryn's desire for transformation catalyzed this project, steering the architectural design to cherish significant heirlooms while adapting for modern living. Challenges included merging an Edwardian aesthetic with updated energy standards, requiring thoughtful planning for accessibility, thermal efficiency, and preserving the property’s character. The implementation of Passivhaus techniques, including a continuous thermal envelope and natural ventilation strategies, underscored the project's commitment to environmental performance and holistic living.
The Woodbury Residence is inspired by decalcomania, creating a dialogue between past and future while allowing the owner, Kathryn, to embrace architectural change.
