Tour an Eames-Inspired Modular Home Near Madrid
Briefly

Charles and Ray Eames emphasized pleasure, skepticism towards excess, and problem-solving in design. Their home in Los Angeles inspired contemporary designers Ignacio de la Vega and Pilar Cano-Lasso. They founded Tini Living to explore standardized housing reflecting Eames' principles. Inspired by Case Study Houses, particularly Case Study House #8, their designs focus on efficient use of materials, spaciousness, and connection to nature. As building costs rise and skilled labor diminishes, Cano-Lasso believes that this simple yet effective design approach will shape the future of construction.
"Take your pleasure seriously," Charles and Ray Eames famously said in reference to cinema, culture, design, and, of course, architecture.
That approach shaped the design of their home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles in 1949, which today houses the Eames Foundation.
They were showpieces for an intelligent use of materials and industrial elements with open floor plans that connected to the outdoors thanks to their large expanses of glass.
We believe that this is the future of building," adds Cano-Lasso, citing recent increases in the cost of construction materials and the shortage of skilled labor.
