Tanya Grigoroglou envisioned RAW Editions as a gallery breaking away from traditional, intimidating art spaces, aiming for a more personal experience. After purchasing a Victorian home with her husband, she collaborated with architects to create a functional space for family and client meetings. The design balances bold artistic elements with restraint, utilizing colors and textiles that enhance the gallery feel, like handmade recycled terrazzo and custom built-ins, redefining how art can be appreciated in a domestic setting.
As a dealer, I always envisioned that I was going to take this out of the white gallery walls and the very intimidating experience of buying art.
There is a restraint, but there are also a lot of bold elements.
I wanted to use them because they are an artist collective in Liverpool... I wanted my entertaining space to be a nod to that.
But since it's Tanya and Rupert's headquarters, we didn't want to have something domestic like a curtain or a blind.
