fran silvestre arquitectos stretches all-white linear residence across narrow site in spain
Briefly

Camiral House, designed by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, is located at the Camiral Golf & Wellness resort in Girona, Spain. The residence features a monolithic, horizontal design that integrates with its elongated plot while optimizing views. The ground floor accommodates daytime activities, while the elevated night area creates a large covered terrace. The façade includes few openings for enhanced climatic comfort. A north-facing skylight illuminates the staircase, and the partially buried basement ensures structural stability while providing versatile spaces beneath the dwelling.
The project responds to its site, a narrow, elongated plot in a newly urbanized area surrounded by expansive views, through a sequence of precise spatial decisions.
The continuous, horizontal extrusion runs along the terrain, with daytime functions on the ground floor and the night area elevated above for enhanced climatic comfort.
Only two additional openings punctuate the volumes, marking the entrance and bringing soft southern light into the main bedroom, creating a sculptural rhythm.
To add weight and stability to the structure, the architects partially bury the basement, supporting the cantilevered upper floor and providing a sense of tectonic density.
