The Maxberg project at Apartamenty Batycki demonstrates the challenge of developing coastal areas while honoring local architecture. Designed by a team including Karol Nieradka, Micha Jaroszewicz, Sylwia Gudaczewska, and Grzegorz Skalski, the initiative sought to create a dialogue with the pre-war villas of Swinoujscie and the coastal dune landscape. The architects faced pressures from investors who preferred larger buildings. Ultimately, the project's completion in 2022 reflects a commitment to harmonizing new developments with their environmental and historical contexts.
Creating development near the shoreline is a particularly difficult and responsible task. Pressure from investors often results in oversized buildings that do not respect the surrounding architecture.
The overriding goal of the project was to dialogue with both the architecture of the characteristic pre-war villas of Swinoujscie and the landscape of the coastal dune.
The design team consisted of Karol Nieradka, Micha Jaroszewicz, Sylwia Gudaczewska, and Grzegorz Skalski, all working together to achieve a harmonious integration with the environment.
Completion of the architecture project occurred in 2022, emphasizing the importance of blending new development with historical and natural contexts.
