Gene Hackman's Rustic Santa Fe Home
Briefly

Gene Hackman's renovation of his home features an open concept design with high ceilings and an emphasis on spacious living areas. He transformed several small rooms into a vast central living space adorned with tree-trunk columns and comfortable furnishings. Aiming for a home with the essence of age, Hackman incorporated elements that mimic decades of wear, like subtly darkened plaster and a custom, traditional stamped-tin ceiling. His vision combined modern comfort with a nostalgic feel, successfully merging new construction with old-world charm.
The house is new, but from its newness we tried to bring it back a hundred years or more.
I wanted a big room with a great-hall feeling, with other rooms opening off it, not closed off with a lot of walls.
